該劇講述了抗日戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)時(shí)期，在東北肇 州的大地上，江雪原、牛勝力、董連山、 褚長(zhǎng)德、關(guān)奎等幾名幸存下來(lái)的獨(dú)立營(yíng)戰(zhàn) 士頑強(qiáng)不屈，英勇奮戰(zhàn)，在敵占區(qū)與日軍 大部隊(duì)一次次展開斗智斗勇的游擊戰(zhàn)，并 最終迎來(lái)了抗戰(zhàn)勝利的曙光。

　　正值抗日戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)最艱苦的時(shí)期，普通農(nóng)民吳應(yīng)德（何政軍 飾）從日寇的活人實(shí)驗(yàn)中僥幸逃生，并由此加入八路軍。在一次行動(dòng)中，吳用自制的怪槍射殺敵軍頭目，其造槍才能和果敢膽識(shí)得到八路軍修械所廠長(zhǎng)任如堅(jiān)（張光北 飾）的認(rèn)可，遂將吳招至麾下。在廠里，他結(jié)識(shí)了隊(duì)長(zhǎng)羅克繩（李成儒 飾）、神槍手柳寶（范雷 飾）、兵工專家楊墨（羿坤 飾）、游擊隊(duì)長(zhǎng)姚芳（陳麗娜 飾）、女醫(yī)生江燕（李依玲 飾）等各有所長(zhǎng)的同志。大家齊心協(xié)力，共同投入優(yōu)良兵器的研發(fā)和改進(jìn)。而與此同時(shí)，以谷野正雄（馬衛(wèi)軍 飾）為首的日寇殫精竭慮尋找修械所所在，急于將八路軍的蓬勃力量扼殺在萌芽中。
